Summer Is Here

Can't believe it's been a year in Kentucky, but almost exactly one year after arrival Levi finished his first school year.

We celebrated in many ways, most notably with a camping trip in the yard. What a great sleep! And for breakfast we just walk over to Alexis' Cafe (aka our kitchen) for some banana pancakes.

We officially started the summer with some horsing around. Found the coolest spot to watch planes take off from LEX, followed by the coolest spot to get to know some of our equine neighbors. Many were friendly, but some especially so. Mumtaazah and Sawsan were two goods one. Pretty neat that you can find their names on their bridles and then look up their former racing careers. No Derby winners here, which explains why they were just hanging out in a field and we were petting them. But they were still part of the set that lives in barns that look like mansions. One wanted Levi's flip flop so he gave Levi a little nibble on the toes and pulled it off for a closer look. Then some licking and tickling on the neck just to show there were no hard feelings.
