The feeling of celebrating the summer kept on going through the weekend. Saturday night we decided to up our game and go with Levi to a more grown up restaurant. The kind with no kids' menu or styrofoam kids' cups. We didn't have a specific place in mind when we left, but after Levi saw that I was wearing a shirt with a collar he decided he wanted to also play the part and ran upstairs to put one on. It made it all the better when, after dinner, we pulled out the game of Pigs.
After celebrating, we needed a new reason to keep celebrating. Right on cue, Levi scored his first touchdown. I could see the play developing two plays ahead. For both pass plays, Levi sat as a decoy in the backfield. Being a bunch of 8 and 9 year olds, everyone on the defense ran to one side of the field where the receivers were, leaving the other side wide open. So I got myself into position knowing where Levi would be headed next. On cue Levi took the handoff, spotted the corner of the end zone, and took off. Right as he made his final cut, Levi put his body into the defender and crossed the line. Very cool.
