Blog Turns 15

Last week the blog turned 15 years old. Fifteen years of our lives documented in some pretty striking detail. Anyone interested in the movie rights, I am willing to negotiate. Serious offers only.

Moving on into the next 15 years, this Fall felt highly familiar. Like school pictures!

And marching band. So much marching band. A show north of Cincinnati gave me and Eva the opportunity to indulge in seafood. We spent our budget to the penny. The budget is between her and me.

The show was amazing with a sunset backdrop.

Another show closer to home to the south of the state. This time complete with a flyover at the very moment our band began their show. Weird, because there is a flight school near the stadium, so you'd think they'd have had to jump through real hoops to allow for the show flyover. Huh.

I was able to add yet another claim to fame this month, by being part of a spirit award at the show. Dad leading the cheers, worthy of multiple shots.

The weather was our first taste of cold, windy weather. The band huddled in the back of the truck between shows to keep warm. Spot the Levi.

We also continued to eat. Yet another claim to fame is the biggest plate of nachos ever to exist. Eva is enthusiastic about our ability to finish. Levi is more stoic. We gave it a good run, but some did spill over into breakfast the next day.

Eva and I also did another restaurant pop op. This one motivated by our seafood experience in Cincinnati. Noticing that all the seafood places seem to pair seafood with steaks, we named our place the same way. But ours is better. Luckily every guest chose salmon. It was a one item menu.

Like all high end joints, the chef begins the experience with what I now know is called amuse-bouche. This one is called Cheesy On Easy Street. A toasted focaccia base topped with a single cheddar shell and a single strand of Mexican-blend shredded cheese. Almost too beautiful to eat!

And of course, our restaurant is dog friendly!
