People have been jawwing at me for weeks for a new blog post. Happy to have waited for the new interface-type-device that seems to feature much bigger pictures. So here we go.
#covidlife
Eva spends her time in the house trying to overcome gravity. Seriously, that is the name of a book that has been purchased by you know who. Rather than reading all those words Eva just tries to copy the silhouette on the cover.
Another good time is to go down to the free ferry that crosses the Kentucky River. A little three-person ferry on cable, with a paddle wheel. A paddle wheel!
Eva was drawing again, and this Bloom character has appeared on the blog before. The first picture, from 2016, I believe. I still remember the day and the place where the 2016 picture was drawn. Then in 2019 and 2020 again there is a chain of evidence of Eva's growing artistic eye. The current anime style is really something.
Eva also created a new edition of the Tattler. Political edition. It's funny how different the kids' education is when they have to hang around their dad more during the day.
Later, off we go to Turkey Run for a long overdue reliving of childhood memories, and the creation of some new ones. And the start of an entire birthday week for Eva. It's been a while since the kids were in a pool area with.... strangers. Properly spaced apart, of course.
Hiking is a big deal at the Run, as well like to call it now. Well, I like to call it that. No turkeys. All got killed off in the big Run of '62. Lots of this kind of thing.
The other thing is the tubing. My god, the tubing. Lazy like Cole. Next time I'd bring a whole lunch and we'd set it up right here and spend an hour. Two if I bring a little Weber. And beer next time.
Cole side eye: "Did someone say my name?" Busy trying to hold up the bottom part of this table.
On to Lexington, the people stay the same but the scenery changes around us.
Still waiting to leave the country, or, you know, go anywhere... Drove up to Cincinnati earlier this summer to pick up a 6-pack. Have been planning a trip to Louisville to do the same, putting it off not to cram in all the fun in the same month.
