After a long wait through planning and plotting, we finally escaped the city last weekend. Only a few days, and out in the country meant more physical distancing than if we stayed. But it was nice to see that the rest of the world is still out there, at least between here and Illinois.
The family plot, so to speak, reminds me that people were here back in 1918 when that other pandemic was going on. Strange to think about, but a great place to stay away from people.
It's really a place for dogs. Big sky country.
Being out in the middle of nowhere, Calli (and only Calli) got a chance to run free.
Cole responds by stealing the body pillow from Calli.
Casey dog, a face only a dog person could love.
Mad Max from next door also hangs around the fire looking for scraps. I'd love to see her and Calli go after the same plate.
The people also spent a ton of time outside. Some riding motorcycles, with Eva's first ride ever right behind me. And she also drove the mule for the first time. Levi honed his driving skills and got pretty good, even driving the trails through the woods. Here he tries to make sure no dummy is standing in front of him.
Swinging on the 50 year old set, the kids are just light enough to pull it off. Maybe one more year, and then the swinging stops.
We set a new record for a fire that did not go out for four straight days.
Lots of sitting around talking about the meaning of life. What is the meaning of life? Google it.
The hit for everyone was her foot salon which included a massage and treatment, even a treatment for dead skin. Her strong hands made for a truly relaxing massage, especially when she put the towel over the customer's eyes and reclined them. I was so happy I actually cried tears of joy at one point.
The compromise is the deck, lazy yes but is it inside or outside? No matter.

Strange weather for mid-May meant there was still a fair amount of lazy indoor time (to go with all the lazy outdoor time).
Eva made the most of anyone with her indoor time. First in some creative sewing to make her own cloak, and a new blue sweater. Celebrating with a goblet full of milk.
