WWLevi

Wrestling. Levi's been at it for a couple months now, and last week took part in his first competition. Judging by the performance of the entire team, the other team had way more experience. They more than likely had way more practice time. Levi got soundly beaten. But a good motivator, and thinking back to his first tae kwon do days at least this time he doesn't run from the mat to keep hugging me. It's also a nice bookend to a recent entry about three gold medals from a tournament in Indiana, and a reminder that life has highs and lows. I was especially proud, though, that Levi didn't exhibit one bit of disappointment about his match. I was worried he'd suddenly decide he didn't like wrestling anymore, but he's still with it, with another tournament coming up. He might not work as hard as he should at practice, so we'll see how long he decides it will be more about fun versus a desire to improve and win once in a while.

I hope that the line first brought out in the first days of practice will be borne out: Once you've wrestled, everything else in life is easy.
