One of the ways that hockey is such a special game to see live is that after the game they always have the three stars of the game. They skate out a hold their stick up. It's not a big thing, but leave it to Canadians to find ways to make sitting for three hours around a frozen rink into a great time. Special memories come from Canadiens (not misspelled, spell check) games where you not only get stars but etoiles too!
Le premiere etoile, Levi Peloza! (organ music) Levi had a couple of big events this week. Entrepreneur fair first. Perhaps the first of many business ventures. Made a few bucks, not a bad start.
Then it's tournament time again. Loading up on salty, smelly items before the competition.
The medal haul this time was a bit lighter, but Levi was more impressive to me. First, we was now in the highest age category which meant he was the youngest and smallest. As in everyone else who sparred was a head taller. He still held his own and got a medal. He also felt, I think rightly so, that the judges were a little out of their depth and missed quite a few shots. Not just with Levi, other kids too. But he didn't complain, and was the first to tell everyone they did a great job after their matches. Great promise for the years ahead as he tests himself against bigger opponents.
La deuxieme etoile, Alexis Allen! (organ music)
It's show time again. This time with a dance number. Why do they call them numbers?
You'd never know about the injured hammy if you saw the dance, and especially the silks thing (number, whatever). The blurred, low focus, low light actually might make this picture better.
