D.C.

So we went to D.C. for the weekend for work, but it seemed like all we did was have fun. Even before leaving the airport Levi relaxed with some yoga on the train platform.

Sure, OK, there was some work on the first day. But we soon found a park while walking around before dinner, reminiscent of the park in Chinatown from San Francisco earlier this year.

An early night to bed to make up for the 4:15 wake up that day, and then it was off to Dupont Circle for some Saturday morning breakfast. People watching is one of the best things about travel, here Levi enjoys the view while sipping his green tea.

We did get some sightseeing in, but this was a very different trip for me than previous D.C. trips. First, it;'s one of only a couple since moving to the U.S., which means a greater awareness of the American political goings-on period. But especially now when one can't escape it. Approaching the White House I felt a sense of disgust come over me, knowing who was in there. I couldn't even stand to be in sight of it, let alone have a posed picture in front of it like previous visits. So we kept walking and stopping in front of this impressive looking building (something to do with the treasury, I think, where we send all our money). First a smile.

Then a mimic of that dumb look Trump gets on his face when he tries to be all serious-man. Funny how a 9-year old can pull it off, being of similar mental development and all.

So on to more fun. What is D.C. most known for? Why, trapeze, of course! So we went and watched that Allen mom fly around for a couple hours. At least one of us worked this weekend. Or was this fun?

Afterward sitting in one of the many bars in the Navy Yard area, which is a pretty neat area, we relaxed while watching college football and about 500 dudes (and a few women) wearing red dresses walk down the street. While Levi put ice cubes down dad's shirt.

If there's one thing we know about Levi, it's that he loves his dad.

So you'd think we would have had enough of bars and football games. But you'd be wrong. Walked all over trying to fund a Kentucky football game on TV. Harder than you might think. Still, the other games were interesting enough.

A super-late 4pm checkout the next day and we're out. Goodnight D.C.
