Maybe It's Me

No, this isn't about the 1995 album from Treble Charger. It's about my tendency to take more pictures of Those Peloza Kids and post them for all you lucky people (not to Honest Ed's there, get it?). I was thinking they are just doing way more stuff that is photo-able. Or maybe just photogenic. Or maybe it's my sense of my own mortality. Or maybe the allergies.

Whatever the reason, here we go. Levi is one bad dude on the dojo. Eva, never outdone, proves that she can do the splits better than anyone and not even look like she cares (Eva?! Never!).

But those kids didn't realize that this was dad's time to shine. I set out to prove that there is such a thing as too much chocolate. I had to do it pancake form to create a contrast effect, such that the chocolate could be put into context. And it worked! Levi loved it so much he seemed to want to kiss it!

Before more food, we hit the batting cages.

OK, enough of that. Back to food. First in dough form. Hello, old friend.

Then on to veggie pizza. Broccoli only on one side, who have I become?  No matter, delicious and green. The kids would sneakily (so they thought) watch the Back to the Future movie that was on the TV to their right. Oh Momo's, when will you ever learn - no technology at the dinner table!

Next up, Carnival! What a great deal, winning loot (like the new pup, Sky, with Eva below), ziplining, and a dunk tank (Levi was the first kid to hit the target square and dunk the PE teacher). Lucky!

When thinking about two trickster kids, one of whom is the trickster king, what better way to spend some time than Balderdash. It says ages 10 and up, and I think they are right. When Eva tries to come up with her phony answer, she asks "How do you spell 'fire'?" One of the definitions then reads "a fire." Maybe the intricacies of Balderdash are still lost on a 6 year old. As far as Levi is concerned, there are many different words to describe "a butt." And we laughed....

Later in the day it was all about the outdoors. The sun finally came out big time, and a steady breeze made it perfect. Some tag in the yard, which surprisingly was very difficult for those Peloza kids who kept getting their feet tangled together. I think Levi was doing it on purpose, as an excuse to fall on the ground and laugh.

Then we tackled that tree that was taunting us for the past day.

Last up before settling, a walk down the road where we me the neighborhood kitty.

After the sun goes down, more inside games. One of Eva's favorites was "school." She is destined to be a gymnast/teacher. But she's a very easy grader...

For Levi's part, we finally cleared the mushroom world in 3D world. We went on in the next 15 minutes to beat about half the world. But decided to leave some fun for next time.

Sunday brought more sun and the outdoors. First, randomly coming across a Humane Society event out at Bradley's.

A park with swings where Levi learns exactly how much Eva likes to swing.

And how to not stand too close to the person when the come in on their backswing. Seriously, though, this picture captures just a flash. He didn't actually get hit, and a half second after this was turning his head laughing. For all you who were worried.

Last stop, a park to look at the turtles and geese. We didn't bring any feed, but luckily some nice people next to us did. And they got part of the way through the 8 pound bag of cereal and gave us the rest. At first, when they tried the stuff, they forgot about the turtles and geese for a few minutes, and decided to feed themselves.

Levi, did we have fun?
