February = Fishing

By coincidence, I assure you, for the second February in a row we end up in a "fishing lodge" in Southern Georgia.

Quiz: What does $125 per night get you in the middle of nowhere Georgia? Paradise.

We start by some wand fun. Eva dances and checks out the beds around the house. Bouncy.

Very early we got to the celebration of Levi's birthday. Turns out Nana nailed it with the 753 piece Lego set with the fire station. Amazing. Calli clearly agrees, and is oh so interested in the opening.

 So this Lego set made many appearances through the weekend. Here we pose in our best mean faces (why mean, who knows!?) along with the demonstration of the fire fighting force out front.

Ok, let's get outside. Starting with the fishing. We went with stinky cheddar this time. No biting, but we did see a turtle swimming in the lake. Levi is actually a very good caster.

But he also shows some good patience, which is a good thing to have when fishing. He fixes on that bobber, waiting for the slightest movement.

 Moving on the front yard (patience over), we get into playing with the new baseball glove. Another round of action shots, long time followers know how much I love these!

He's so good at this. But when Levi throws the ball, he really throws some heat. He has a future as a pitcher, especially as a lefty.

Eva finds some materials to build a slingshot for herself. Nice!

After lunch (well, sort of lunch, we grazed for most of the weekend...) we tackle the pinata. Clarence says, hit the pinata, and that's just what they did.

Each took a whack, but it took dad to nail that vader and spill the candy.

So that evening we spent some time on the dock. It's what you get a lake house for, right? Put a couple chairs between the shore and the end of the dock and you can let the pups roam. It was shortly after that I noticed both Eva and Calli examining the lake in the calm sunset. Perhaps the best picture ever taken.

From the calm of Sunday evening we spring into Sunday action! Some MarioKart8 action, to be precise. Levi nailed it last Fall, but who knew that Eva would be so good on her first try. Some legit finishes in the middle of the pack, first time out. Here she even guides Levi through the turns.

But it's a nice day so we can't stay inside all day. The sound of crunchy leaves goes back to my high school days. Eva finds it all on her own. We are attached is a cosmic sense.

And that doesn't even take into account our love for dogs. Although I don't use them as pillows in the same way Eva does.

Finally, we grab a game of fooseball before heading out. Levi and I tackle the table. Let's just say it was a tie.
