A Generation Passes

I have regular moments when I appreciate how generations pass. And those Peloza kids pick up things that I can clearly see in my memory from my own childhood. Christmas generally has that effect. Today there were two exceptional moments.

First, Eva was very proud of her bubble-blowing abilities.

Second, and way more prominently, I watched Star Wars with the kids tonight. The original Star Wars. From 1977. The one I watched when I was, perhaps, 10. Whenever it was first on TV, or VHS, or whatever. I didn't even full remember how the story went. But there it was, the full experience for those Peloza kids. Not a remarkable story. It's an underdog story, good triumphs over evil. Even still, I almost wept. Add to that two big bowls of buttered popcorn, popped on the stove, and it could have been the same night in this same house 35 years ago. Time marches on. Holy moly guacamole.
