The day began with a twist, on account of the gorgeous morning. 70 degrees and a breeze calls for a tea party on the grass in the backyard. She sets a lovely table, doesn't she?
After that we celebrated the two things that Kentucky is most known for. Wine and baseball. Here we are strolling the Talon vineyards.
Then hanging out with some mascots at the ballpark. Because of his out of (baseball) season birthday, Levi was invited on the field to throw the first pitch. With 75 of his closest kid friends.
In honor of the Delta Dental mascot (?) we show our dental work. Paid for Delta. And UK. And us.
Number one fan.
You may be able to tell from the picture above that the cloud formations were interesting. The night was perfect. The temperature cooled off, and the storm clouds were just far enough away that we could see the early evening lightning but knew it wasn't coming our way.
Still, we left early - for two reasons. First, Levi was "freaking out" (his words, not mine) over the sight of lightning, and wanted to move inside. As you see from this pic outside the ballpark (and Alexis' apparently stunned expression), the clouds were something to behold.
Second, it was 9-4 in the middle of the second inning, and with the pregame activities we had been there about 3 hours. Ballpark hotdog. Check. Ballpark nachos. Check. Ballpark beer. Check. Foam finger. Check. Time to go.
