SouIll

Spent the long weekend in Southern Illinois. Why not? I'm pulling down some decent bucks. What is there to do in SouIll (that's what locals call it)? SouIll has plenty to do. Lots of walking with plenty of spectacular rocks and trees.

And the lakes around campus. Oh, the lakes around campus. Complete with their diving board optical features.

But even all the way down here in SouIll, the specter of our Canadian overloads hangs over us. Canada rules. With one token turtle.

But the real fun in SouIll is eating and drinking. And drinking and eating. The wine, oh the wine. Much more consumer friendly than their counterparts in Napa or Bordeaux. Here, for example, they are not afraid to mark down their Chardonel when you by a case. "Why let it just sit in a cellar for a hundred years?"people ask. Let's move this wine so we can make room for the fresh wine! You know no one's going to build.

While eating and drinking kids pass the time the best they can, with games and running around another body of water and feeding fish.

Here again long time readers will appreciate the throwback. In this case, kids running toward the camera, most recently from Valdosta, Georgia from last Spring.
