One Last Hoorah

Levi and I took one more trip to Tallahassee. Panama City, technically. Looking forward to making some memories, who knows when we'll be back down here again? Wouldn't you know it the weekend had so many good times that I truly hope we are back in PC soon, The first surprise was that (gulp; literally!) my favorite beer from a small brewery in Michigan is found in pallet size in a random store in PC right down the road from the hotel. A sign of things to come.

Armed with a bag of groceries, and a cooler bag full of M-43s, my objective was to spend the late afternoon and evening by the pool.

As evening came I was pleased that the kids were still going strong in the pool. This was the part that was probably the most perfect, the first time I could sit and grill by the pool and genuinely not be worried about the kids swimming. I don't think I had ever been fully relaxed with them swimming before this night.

I was in such a good mood I shared my Zappo's.

The next day brought a slight headache from all the - ahem - fun from the first night. But we can't let that slow us down, there are nails to be applied. I love that she takes such care and pride in following each step so carefully.

We go out to our favorite PC restaurant to show off dad's new nails. At this point I had a pinky and index.

Before heading back down to the pool for round 2 the second night, Eva goes for at least the 4 that she finish. Thumb is just far too big to hold a fake nail.

The rest of the afternoon was a complete repeat from the first, albeit with a little less M-43 influence.

One more hour before checking out, then our usual late lunch with doughballs at Momo's.

Then for old times' sake, we stop by Fun Station for a few games. My plan was to put $25 or so on the card I'd be carrying in my wallet for years, one last time. As if a final gift from Tallahassee, when I check the card I find that there was still $50 on it. Good thing we stopped, yes? After watching the kids play Crash Willy a couple dozen times, old dad takes a turn and lands the 1,000 ticket shot.
