So I start thinking about what to call the post for Spring Break 2018. I think about Spring Has Sprung. Then I think, nah, too lame. But the sprung part stuck with me. It morphed into a name that one could imagine being given to an Ikea shelving unit. In fact, I think there is one with this name. But you're not here to read about Sweden furniture, so let's begin.
Step 1: Get out and take advantage of the weather with some rollerblade basketball.
Step 2: Cut a hole in the box. Not wait, it's a lyra lesson. Eva in the Moon and many other poses.
Later in the evening, despite being a brisk 37ish degrees, the kids are running like mad up and down the street with nerf weapons. Sitting in shorts, dad enjoys a beer on the front porch watching them run. Classing the neighborhood up!
And set up the new hula hoop for target practice.
On to dinner, where Eva laughed uncontrollably for about 8 minutes, pausing only to squeeze her new squishee.
The next day, we wake up to this. And a snow day, off of school. Nice bonus for the kids to spend more time together.
Levi pitched in to help the neighbors by shoveling their sidewalk. Except when the shovel weighed about 80 pounds from the wet snow. No matter, turns out she wasn't even home for Spring Break.
Another lesson, this time contortion. Eva bends, which Levi cools his jets with a book. Good use of a snow day.
Eva also took the opportunity to swap in a new message on my whiteboard at work.
And renew old acquaintances with Cole.
Another contortion lesson, and we're about done for the day.
No Eva, when I said I liked pretzels I meant to say that I liked the kind of pretzels you eat.
One city can't hold this Spring Break, oh no. Not even one state. Off to Columbus we go, where Eva manages to find some sort of belly dancing outfit.
And Levi and Nola find some British programming from Open University. Physics I think.
Upon arrival home, Eva laces up the starter skates that Levi bequeathed to her. When he made the bequest Levi also included lessons for his little sister. It's incredible to see him independently decide he wants to help his sister, and to hear him be so encouraging to her. "Those are great beginner strides, Eva."
So what's next? Spend lots of time watching the first round of the tournament. Here the dogs show their excitement for the game, by clasping their paws together in anticipation to see if the final 3-pt shot goes in.
That night we had a great fire but the Apple throttling back the battery in the cold struck, right before I could get a picture of the kids waving fire sticks. So we move on the next day, and an anniversary dinner at our favorite restaurant with all our favorite people.
The last day of the break was spent apart. While Eva and I put on a few clicks on the road, the rest of the gang went for a long hike on a gorgeous day.
Best Spring Break ever.

Eva was all about finding packing snow to make a snowman.
