The Beach!

No, no one stole my idea for a cologne. It's just the beach.

I'm so proud, Eva was excited for days to have oysters by the sea. So our first meal - Oysters St. George. Well, her first meal. Dad had a dozen raw and a wedge salad.

When at the beach, one goes to the beach. And one jumps over waves. There is a decent chance that this is my favorite picture of Eva, ever. She is simply amazing.

So another day, more seafood. Eva is talking about how she loves seaweed. When I ordered veggie meatballs from her on the beach, as a waitress she told me "we put seaweed on them" making sure I still wanted them. There is seaweed wrap in sushi. So off we go. Oh, and her friend had lobster and Eva was keen to try it. No more corn dogs and fries off the kids menu.

Strolling along the boardwalk I was struck by the familiar feeling. Eva recalled playing tag with Levi along the boardwalk by AJ's many years ago. Four and a half years ago. They painted the window frames, and put on a second story to the structure. But oh my. Some really good stuff has gone in those 4.5 years.

OK, so it's not all about the beach. It's also about the pool! And doing headstands and cartwheels in the pool. There is no gravity in the pool.

Nevertheless, we just can't resist the beach. So off we go. I knew from the minute I saw the pavilion and the dunes that we'd have a photo shoot. So after some shell collecting, we change into a dress that, until Thursday, had a price tag on it, just waiting for the big unveil. And in this light, it was time.

I promised a photo shoot, which turned into a performance. A born performer.

What's next? Why, oysters, of course! So we walk into the place around 4pm, it's empty. Bartender: Hey guys." Me: "Hello." We take our two seats up at the bar in the ultimate bad-A way. Bartender: "You guys need a kids' menu?" Me (in my head): "Uh, no, my daughter is one bad mama-jama, and we want oysters." Me out-loud: "We want oysters." Somehow she got a bonus, 7 for the price of 6. But watching her down them all, perched up on her high bar stool next to me, with the Destin sunset in our eyes out the windows at the end of the bar, I had the idea that we just might do this again to celebrate her degree. Second or third, I'm not sure. Maybe both. Yeah, both.
