Gobble Part 2

The second half of the holiday is all about watching other people do stuff. Like play basketball. I suppose Levi does put in the effort to hold up his "3" sign when they drain a trey. Look at me, all hip! Speaking of which my hip is sore from my run this morning, my first in a few years.

When dealing with fatigue from watching others, and nursing injury, there is nothing better than spending the day at home reaping the calming benefits of dogs.

The one activity is a game of guess about me. Eva always goes first, then it was my turn. The kids come up with better answers. When I used to eat meat, what was my favorite part of the chicken? Finger. What is my favorite ocean? The Specific Ocean. What is my favorite cooking apparatus? Ms. Alexis.

In between some calming pups, some calming cooking. No rushing, start the night before and keep it going through until the Midwest dinner hour. 2pm.

Know what isn't calming? Driving 660 miles with two pups. Sure, at first it's all cordial. Hey, let's share. Why not? 150 pounds of dog can fit on the seat made for a human.

Dad, can we stop for tacos?

Here Cole channels his personal jesus, complete with side-mirror halo. What's dog spelled backward? Could it be that Cole is some sort of benevolent deity? I mean, his dad can turn off street lights simply by driving close to them. Maybe Cole can switch them back on. Shine on, big boy, shine on.
