At the dock Eva makes like some boat captain or something.
Then takes herself a little bit less seriously, but still focuses on her naturally menacing nature.
Saturday was definitely the busiest day. We started early with fishing, using some Canadian bacon as bait. You Canadians might know it as "ham." Turns out the fish kind of like it. We saw a lot of smaller fish right off the edge of the dock, so we didn't need to cast at all. They nibbled around the bait, but had mouths too small to actually bite the whole thing and get hooked. Then this large catfish started sniffing around the mud. The water was very clear and shallow, so we could see the whole thing, each time a fish swam up and nibbled at the bait. Then the catfish grabbed it, and got hooked. He was flopping around the water, terribly exciting. Then the line broke. He got away. The best part about being a kid is that it counted at "catching" a fish. It was the first time we ever "caught" a catfish.
Lego by the lake. Battle on the porch.
Artwork by the lake. Eva will hopefully start to sign and date all pictures to save me from doing it when I save them. Although I did give her the wrong date, there was no Saturday, May 6 in 2016.
Paper fight! We did the shooting gallery thing. More of a chicken than a duck. But then it turned into an all out fight.
Eva, after spending the day acting like a 6 year old girl, returned to her menacing way. Tough girl.
And so we finish the weekend with our first glimpse of what life with teenagers will be like. $41 for lunch and not a drop of booze. Levi set a new gyoza record with 9.5. Eva tried age tofu for the first time and loved it. Then she tried vegetable tempura and loved it. And they both had bowls of miso as big as their heads. Note to kids when you are old enough to read this: That green stuff actually is seaweed. But glad to know that you like it!
Finally, we pick dandelions.
Long time readers will recognize my new found love of posting new pictures that are reminiscent of older ones. One thing that has not changed with Levi is his love of blowing dandelions.
