The Best Laid Plans

On the way to the orchard this morning, passing through some serious horse country, I realized that the Kentucky Horse Park (another planned spot) is in the exact same area. But alas, we headed on to the orchard. Let's see how that worked out...

First, Eva was a bit skeptical at the blueberry pickings.

But then she found some nice bushes and changed her tune. Let's wait and see how long her happiness lasts....

Levi takes a more stoic approach. Probably because he's been farming for years, as the original berry picture below shows. Other than the horizontal stripes, where has our baby boy gone?

So then the fun continues on the bouncy thingy (technical term). Eva shows near perfect form on the apparatus. Let's see how long her happiness lasts....

Levi, after a few jumps, heads over to the massive slides. Let's see how long his happiness lasts...

As I turn from the slide back to the bouncy thingy, Eva cries out. Another girl bounced near her and the landing didn't quite stick the way it should have. An hour later we're back home and wondering if things are going to get better on their own. Half an hour later, we're in the ER. There may or may not be a fracture in her upper tibia, but there is definitely a cast on her whole darn leg.

Levi and Alexis spent what turned out to be almost seven hours waiting patiently, with Levi matching her sister's good graces under pressure. Yes, the Kentucky Horse Farm would have been the smarter choice for the day. But then we'd have missed all of this. Those Peloza kids are amazing.
